Eco-Store is a unique and first-of-its-kind eco-store in Israel, which brings together a large variety of products in one common space that all help us lead a healthy, natural lifestyle and have a positive impact on the environment.

All our products are carefully selected to ensure quality, meeting a real need and various ecological features.

Our vision is to unite and make accessible products that benefit health and the environment to as many people in Israel as possible, to raise the level of awareness of consumer issues, health and the environment and to allow an alternative to other consumerism, one that does not pollute and waste, but takes into account natural resources, animals and ecosystems. And of course human beings.

So who are we, at Eco-Store?

“I set up Eco-Store out of a great love for nature that is bustling with life, and out of a deep understanding that when nature is in balance we can be in balance and avoid illness and pain. There is a direct and reciprocal influence between us and nature and it takes place at every moment.

As part of my work as an ecological consultant for the unique real estate project “Fertile Land” I was exposed to more and more ecological solutions and products that support a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, I connected to the great value of quality – product quality, environment, quality of life, and I decided to build a house for all the good products and ideas around them”.

What is ecology and why is it needed?

At Eco-Store, ecology is a way of life. At every moment we look at our environment and think about how to influence it for the better.

So what exactly is ecology?

The word originates from Greek and is a fusion of two concepts into one idea: Logia – research, and Oikos whose original meaning is home. Most people treat ecology as environmental awareness and caring, we at Eco-Store are dedicated to the environment in the belief that the environment is the home of us all.

So why do I need ecology now?

We live in a time when all natural resources are overused, without control or supervision by us humans.

This violation of the delicate balance of the earth and ecosystems inevitably has negative consequences that we experience in the flesh: global warming, increasing pollution of water and soil, shortages and rising prices of basic food components, diseases and more.

We humans, together with animals, trees, plants and resources constitute a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Together we maintain the fabric of life that is second to none. We are now required to think and act outside ofthe box to preserve this fabric and the earth, the home of us all.

A healthy and balanced environment means healthy and balanced humanity: less disease and more abundance from which we all feed.

Despite its minimal size, the hummingbird is extraordinarily active and energetic – it visits and suckles from hundreds of flowers every day – thus reminding us of the qualities of joy, lightness, cheerfulness and harmony in our world. The hummingbird pollinates flowers, spreads the blossoming around and allows the flowers to bloom. The flowers thank the hummingbird and give it their sweet nectar. Therefore, the hummingbird is a symbol of the essence of the sweetness inherent in life, of the nectar hidden in them.

Up, down, forward, backward, right and left – the hummingbird can fly in all directions, and hover at the same point when it seems (to us) hanging motionless.

The ecological features of our products

Each of our products has an ecological feature/properties that reflect it and turn it into an eco-product from heart to heart:

Made in Israel – local is the best! Local production allows for great savings in resources and energy involved in transportation, packaging, storage and coordination. When we encourage production in the country, we expand the opportunities for work and creativity in our community, contribute to the local economy and use accessible raw materials instead of such remote and expensive ones.

Recycled material – The use of recycled material over the use of new material can raise questions about its ecological contribution, since the recycling process requires a lot of energy and transportation. However, recycling contributes greatly to reducing waste and landfills and allows raw resources to be left in their natural place, thus contributing to the conservation of ecosystems across the globe.

Please note: The percentages of recycled material out of the total product vary from product to product.

Recyclable/biodegradable in compost – there are places to dispose of these at the end of use, without being loaded onto the mountains of waste. Whether in the neighborhood recycling bins or in the home composter – these products do not contribute to the pollution, they contribute to our environment!

Please note: a product or its packaging is biodegradable provided that it undergoes a composting process in a domestic or industrial composting facility. The environmental benefit of biodegradable wastewater products depends on the passage of the material through some wastewater treatment plant (domestic or industrial).

Multi-use and highly durable – a quality product will stay with us for many years, for two reasons – it is durable and strong, and it can be used by us for a variety of uses. A quality product is a product that is not easily thrown away and therefore does not increase the volume of garbage in the world. A one-time investment in a quality and durable product saves us money over time and reduces pollution resulting from overproduction and frivolous consumption.

Produced by people with special needs – productive activity of special populations around the country allows individuals in these communities feelings of satisfaction, belonging, self-confidence and joy. We are happy to take part in encouraging the blooming of these diverse and special populations.

Natural material – its benefits do not just come down to pleasant touch, quality and aesthetics. Natural material can be stronger than synthetic material and durable for many years. The use of natural materials replaces the need for materials that come from perishable natural resources, toxic materials or animal materials. Many times the production of artificial material involves a lot of pollution and transportation – pollution that is saved from us and the environment when using a natural material.

Handmade – unique products made with human attention and warmth. Handmade production strengthens our self-sufficient connection with objects and materials in general. Handmade production relies on traditional knowledge of many years and of different cultures, and contributes to the preservation of this invisible and important knowledge. In addition, handicrafts save on pollution of a mechanized industry based on oil, coal or gas.

Environmentally friendly packaging – packaging that has been thought of, and it thinks of us. The production of packaging involves pollution and transportation that is characteristic of any industrial production, but beyond that the environmental blow that characterizes packaging in particular is the much-needed and biodegradable waste they produce. Environmentally friendly packaging is one that does not produce much waste – it may be recycled, it may be recycled or decomposed into compost and it may be reusable.

Eco-friendly production process – although production in conventional factories is economically efficient, it does not benefit the environment and often also its workers. Today there are environmentally friendly production solutions – ecological plants that operate on renewable energy (wind turbines or solar panels), small plants that work with manual and non-electric machines, workshops that operate with traditional production methods, production processes that are not based on massive production in the far east and more.

Allows saving of money and resources – smart products whose whole purpose is to save – save water, save energy, save gas and out of all these – save money!

Do it yourself – encourages creative and independent action. When we assemble our belongings ourselves, we enjoy freedom of choice, the joy of creation and the reduction of dependence on other manufacturers. Taking responsibility for us saves is also processes of production and transportation of pollutants that harm the soil, air and water that are important to us all .

Green standard holder – products with a certificate of excellence! Green, many and varied standards, from around the world mark products and indicate different ecological features – the method of production, the choice of materials, high quality control, carbon compensation and the like.

Our daily lives

We at Eco-Store consistently and devoutly follow our heart and our values.

From the small choices of buying office equipment to the big decisions related to the product lines we market and import:

We buy a little office equipment – We use our existing equipment wisely, look for second-hand alternatives when possible, reuse as much as possible and buy recycled, when possible.

We have adopted a “paperless” approach – in a digital world like today, we are looking for creative ways to save on paper: our invoices are digital, we do not have formatted office paper, the printer always has recycled paper in it that is often used on both sides. And when it comes to writing – we have piles of used paper for any purpose 🙂

We have six recycling bins (!) – waste paper / plastic / metal / glass / electronics / organic waste.

In a store in Tel Aviv, we devotedly raise two stray cats that have adopted us – the lovely Shula and Kushi.
